Operatives Essentials

This 1 day programme is an effective solution to covering the key issues faced by site operatives.  Providing candidates with individual certificates for each topic the programme includes

Asbestos Awareness

The tutor provided for both the Asbestos Awareness and Awareness for Non Licenced works is a P402 qualifed surveyor.

This course provides the basis for compliance with the duty to ensure workers likely to come into contact with Asbestos are aware of the risks related to the material.  The programme includes:

The risks linked to the inhalation of asbestos fibres
The legal duty to control Asbestos in premises
The need to avoid disturbance
The forms of asbestos and the types of materials likely to contain asbestos

Asbestos Awareness for Non Licensed Works

This course builds on the Asbestos Awareness programme.  The programme is provided in line with the requirements of the Asbestos at Work Regulations and offers candidates the opportunity to develop their understanding of the safe systems of work outlined by Asbestos Essentials The programme includes:

Asbestos Awareness (see above)
Risk Assessment
Use of Asbestos Essentials in developing safe systems of work
Safe use of PPE
Compliance with Environmental Legislation

Manual Handling Principles and Practice

This course provides the basis for undertaking a simple manual handling assessment along with an understanding of the causes of manual handling injuries and the need to select suitable controls.  Included in the programme is:

First Aid - 3 Day First Aid at Work

HSE Approved, content tailored to the issues of your industry.  Complying with the duty to provide adequate first aid cover this training programme is essential for the majority of our clients.

Comprised of classroom based lessons, theory paper and practical examination.

1 Day Emergency First Aid at Work

HSE Approved.  Complying with the duty to provide adequate first aid cover this training programme is essential for the majority of our clients.

Fire Safety - CIEH Level 2 Fire Safety

Suitable for Fire Marshals and those with reposnibilities within the workplace

Comprised of classroom based lessons and a mulitple choice exam

CIEH Level 3 Fire Safety Risk Assessment and Control

Suitable for those with responsibilites to conduct fire risk assessments.  It is particularly useful for company owners, managers and supervisors but will be equally beneficial to those contributing to the fire risk assessment process.

Course Prerequisites: Level 2 Award in Fire Safety

Comprised of classroom based lessons, multiple choice exam and practical exercises.

Duration 4 days - 3 days of classroom based training complimented by 1 day of tutor support whilst candidates complete their practical assessments.



Abrasive Wheels

Provided in line with the requirement of PUWER to ensure that all users of Abrasive Wheels are competent.  This course covers:

Selection of abrasives and other significant hazards related to the use of the equipment

Full course available to include wheel balancing on request.  Applicable to the engineering industry.

Workshop/Woodworking Machinery

Provided in line with PUWER to ensure that machine operatives are competent.  This course addresses safe use of handheld tools and fixed machinery.

Risk Assessment and Method Statement

This course is aimed at anyone with the responsibility to conduct risk assessment and write method statements.  Ideal for business owners, managers and supervisors.  The course will equip candidates with the knowledge and confidence to produce suitable and sufficient risk assessments and method statements.

Accident and Incident Investigation

This course is aimed at anyone with the responsibility to conduct accident investigations for example managers, supervisors and safety representatives.  The course offers an understanding of accident investigation procedures, collecting, analysing and communicating data, understanding RIDDOR as well as ensuring that organisations learn from data and take stepd to prevent reccurrence.  The course content includes:

CIEH Food Safety Level 2

Everyone who works with food has a responsibility to ensure the safety of consumers.  This course is aimed at anyone working in an environment where food is prepared, cooked or handled.  The programme will give attendees:

CDM 2007 Explained

This course provides persons working in the construction industry with an understanding of how the regulations impact on their work.  The regulations place significant responsibility on various parties involved in construction projects.  The programme presents a clear picture of the roles of duty holders, ensuring candidates are aware of their duties and equipped with the understanding necessary to meet their responsibiities.

Site Safety Plus
Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

An industry recognised qualification increasingly sought after by public and private clients.  The 5 day course is designed for Site Managers and Supervisors. 
By the end of the programme candidates will have gained or updated their knowledge of legislative requirements on construction sites as well as keys to effective management of health and safety.
Comprised of classroom based lessons, multiple choice exam  and practical excercises as part of a team.

Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

This course is an industry recognised qualification for Site Supervisors, or those about to assume the role. 
Content covers site arrangements for environment, welfare and other key health and safety issues and equips candidates with an understanding of their supervisory duties.
Comprised of classroom based lessons, multiple choice exam and practical exercises as part of a team.

SMSTS Refresher

In order to maintain the SMSTS qualification this Refresher programme must be attended every 5 years in order to update and maintain the knowledge of competent Site Managers and Supervisors.
